The site concept was born from the original CubaVolleyball.com site, which was a supporters’ site dedicated to the Cuban Volleyball team, but grew to include a number of national teams when we started to upload images from the annual international competitions in Montreux and Schwerin.
While our current focus and available information relates to just 11 teams, we would hope to expand that, and we invite you to contribute your volleyball images, news, views and comments to share them
with fellow enthusiasts from around the world, and make VolleyPics.com
a meeting and focal point for all supporters and even players of all teams worldwide.
The VolleyPics Team
VolleyPics.com is operated by Eire, Wahinefan and Stjepanidze who are from Ireland, the Philippines and Peru respectively. They decided to work together on a site which would cover volleyball throughout the world and try to promote the sport where possible. Volleyball is a major part of each of their lives.
Wahinefan is a fan of the Italian team, with Mari of Brazil being a favourite of hers. Wahinefan is a high school volleyball coach and also a content-service provider to some volleyball and sports web sites.
Stjepanidze is an urban planner from Peru, a diehard volleyball fan, a former player in his teens for a club in Lima and still a player for fun.
Eire plays, coached and now photographs volleyball, and his primary interest is in the Cuban team being a huge fan of Mireya Luis.
Most of the images on the site are ones taken by Eire, but we are gradually adding images from other fans and other sources. Feel free to contribute and share, but please ensure that you own the copyright to any images which you supply to us ( that the images are copyright-free, even if taken by yourself).
Other images may be copyright-free from the FIVB site.
